What was Circular Economy
Hotspot Catalonia 2021?
Circular Economy Hotspot is the annual event where you can meet cross-sectorial delegates and companies from Europe and all around the world. In 2021, it took place in Barcelona.
This was the 5th edition of Circular Economy Hotspot previously held in The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Scotland, and Belgium. The event aims to share strategies and experiences about the circular economy, with the involvement of some of the main European actors involved in the transformation of the current economic and productive model.
Catalonia has around 400 companies offering circular solutions and half of them are exporting worldwide. During a day and a half of organized tours at Circular Hotspot Catalonia, some of their initiatives were explored, as well as R&D&I projects, government strategies and successful collaborations.
The second half of the event took place within the framework of Smart City Expo World Congress, the international forum for business and discussion which connects stakeholders addressing the most pressing urban issues, giving participants a unique opportunity to create new synergies.
The celebration of this event in Catalonia strengthened the Circular Catalonia hub, a meeting point for companies, institutions, and people ready to put into practice solutions and strategies to consolidate the circular economy in Catalonia.
